Just like any other teenager, teen Christian single moms can be self-centered and may find it difficult to plan for their future. Teen Christian single mothers have to deal with the joys and frustrations of being a teenager as well as the challenges of teenage single mothers in their church. Boyfriends, girlfriend relationships, and getting along with parents are just a few of the challenges of teenage single mothers. The challenges of teenage single mothers and their church is a spiritual one, even though they may not realize it at first.
Our Christian society views motherhood as something special. We believe mothers should provide security and stability for their children. A mother is expected to sacrifice many of her own wants and desires for the benefit of her children. Most teen Christian single moms have not reached this level of maturity. Her church may be the very thing she needs to provide her with the information, support and education Christian single mothers need to help her become a more stable, mature mother.
If teen Christian single mother topics are not discussed and the role of the teenage single mother is ignored, teenage Christian single mothers may conclude that to relate to others in their church, they must act more grown up than they are. This may sound good at first, but there is a downside to teenage Christian single moms acting too mature too quickly. Many believe that it would be best if teen Christian single mothers did not work, especially if they are still in high school. The primary problem for many teenage Christian single moms is spiritual. Teenage Christian single moms must reconcile to their Christian faith before they can experience the healing that comes from forgiveness and find the new purpose and direction she needs.
Teenage Christian single moms may choose to respond to their need for their Christian faith, or they may disregard it. Teenage Christian single moms may respond to their Christian faith message years later when they are more mature.
