Here are just a few Florida single mother scholarship opportunities for financial aid to continue education. These Florida single mom scholarships can be used along with other financial aid granted by colleges and other state and federal aid sources to help achieve educational goals.
The Frederick W. and Grace P. Brecht Scholarship
Students in Brevard County who have either been a resident for two years or have graduated from a Brevard County high school may be eligible for the Frederick W. and Grace P. Brecht Scholarship. Students with good moral character and financial need must be enrolling in a full-time degree seeking program at a community college or university in the state of Florida and maintain a GPA of at least 2.0. Scholarships are awarded in the amount of $1,000.
The Mary Ellen Burnett Scholarship
If you are a graduate of East Ridge, Eustis, Leesburg, Mount Dora, South Lake, Tavares or Umatilla High School and plan to attend the University of Florida, you may be eligible for the Mary Ellen Burnett Scholarship. Preference is given to deaf, emotionally or physically handicapped, learning disabled, and gifted students, followed by those seeking a degree in agriculture or education. Scholarship awards start at $500 and go up from there, based on merit, number of eligible students, and need.
The George Snow Scholarship Fund
The George Snow Scholarship Fund offers a variety of scholarships to deserving young people of Palm Beach and Northern Broward Counties. These scholarships are 4-year commitments and are designed to bridge the gap between financial aid granted by colleges, state and federal aid sources and what the recipients need to attend college.
Over the years the George Snow Scholarship Fund organization and community partners have awarded over $3.5 million to over 900 of the area's brightest and most worthy students. It is necessary to complete only one application to apply for every scholarship for which you are eligible.
