Fortunately, it is possible to find grants and scholarships for African American single mothers to return to school for a better education. These are just a few of the scholarships for African American single moms available to give you an idea of what is available.
United Negro College Fund
A scholarship for African American single mothers might be obtained from the United Negro College Fund. The United Negro College Fund strives to close the educational attainment gap between African Americans and the majority population. The United Negro College Fund helps promising students attend college by administering 400 scholarship and internship programs for students from low and moderate income families for college tuition, books and room and board.
Sister Thea Bowman Black Catholic Educational Foundation
A scholarship for African American single moms might be obtained from the Sister Thea Bowman Black Catholic Educational Foundation. The Sister Thea Bowman Black Catholic Educational Foundation provides scholarship opportunities to young African Americans who might not otherwise have access to quality Catholic higher education.
